DIABETES
Stress and wrong/unhealthy food leads to Diabetes Type II. This is also the only possible way to treat it: with stress relieving treatments and nutrition. Unfortunately no magic pill or pharmaceutical drug can cure this.
The government of the United States of America has called upon citizens that are overweight to get tested for what is now being termed ‘Pre-diabetes’. This is an effort to put a stop to an epidemic of diabetes in the country. The government hopes to look forward to lowering those at risk of developing diabetes by taking steps to reduce this chance. It is believed that those that are a threat of developing the disease can be recognised and given a chance to combat the onset of diabetes. Diabetes, which is the sixth leading cause of death in America, is a contributing factor to high blood pressure, stroke, blindness and kidney failure.
Those tested for pre-diabetes and show positive to the disease will demonstrate high levels of glucose in their system but not quite high enough to be classed as diabetes. The government believes the test should be undertaken by anyone that has a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25 or more as well as those who are aged above 44, even though they may not seem a risk to developing diabetes. Once this test is completed, and the individual is negative pre-diabetes, they should be retested every three years. Should the results show pre-diabetes, the individual must be advised on weight loss and increase the amount of exercise. Monitoring must occur, possibly every one or two years.
