Parasites
Scientists worldwide are sure that almost every human has some sort of parasite. We are talking about up to 10 meter long tapeworms and small microscopic amebae. These parasites live in our muscle tissue, in the digestion system, in our blood and even in so important organs like the brain and heart.
How do parasites get into our body?
There are different possibilities. Larva of the thread worm can get into our skin from the ground through the skin of the feet. Once in us they travel through our blood to the lungs where they can cause pneumonia. We can also inhale parasites and from the mouth move throughout the body as they are swallowed and grow up in our Intestine.
Tapeworms live in our gut and they attach themselves with their head to our intestinal wall and can grow up to a few meters in length. They nest in our gut with the larva penetrating through our gut wall and spread through the blood in our body.
Leeches (bloodsucking worms) and their eggs get into our body through contaminated water. They nest in the gut, liver, lungs, bladder, spleen, blood vessels and in the rectum where they can live for up to 20 years laying eggs in our body (their host).
Maggot worm eggs get into our body through our fingers, clothes and bed sheets.
Some amebae get into our body through contaminated water or via food. Scientists believe that the majority of parasites get invade our body by way of food and water. If our fields are fertilised with cow dung and cow slurry we should not be surprised with the number of parasites in our bodies.
Domestic Animals: Cats, Dogs, Guinea pigs and Rabbits
Due to close contact with animals living in the house, parasites can transfer from animal to human very easily. Reeling worms from cats and dogs as well as toxoplasmosis are the most common ones. When you pat your animal you can get pathogens under your fingernails, especially children as they will then put their fingers into their mouth and nose. This is how easily these parasites are able to move from animal to human. Having animals living with you in the house means you have to take responsibility for hygiene. Washing the hands after playing with your animal and particularly before eating is essential. Kissing an animal is something I would not recommend either. If one of your family members has for example, reeling worms, the larva can easily transfer to the other family members. That is also the reason why all family members should be treated even if they do not have any allergic symptoms as they can be carriers. Toxoplasmosis gondii (generally caused by eating improperly cooked meat or contact with cats) is on of the most popular parasites and in Europe, studies show that 30% of the population are infected. This leaves live cysts in the brain and other organs of the host. The host also keeps these parasites for the remainder of his life. This may lead pregnant women with a weak immune system to miscarry or eventuate in severe deformities of the baby. The larva of cat and dog reeling worms hatch in our small intestine and travel from there to the eyes and Central Nervous System where they cause problems like asthma, rheumatism, dermatitis, blindness and epilepsy.
Safer Sex
Parasites can also be transformed during sexual activity. The parasite Trichomonad lives in the genitals (Reproductive Organs). Trichomoniasis is the most popular Sexual Transmitted Disease (STD) and worldwide there are approximately 170 million new infections per year! This is not only transferred through sex but also you can get it e.g. from contaminated toilet seats.
Contact lenses
Some Amebae can cause corneitis (Infection of the cornea) in the eye amongst people that wear contact lenses. If that person has a weak immune system then it can also cause infections in the brain, lungs and skin. Regular cleaning of the lenses prevents these problems.
Fish
Unfortunately, many worm parasites use fish as an inter host. We find them in humans mostly where raw fish is eaten regularly. The round worms in fish can cause unpleasant diseases.
Fox tape worm
This parasite is only three to five millimetres long but deadly! The fox tape worm lives in the small intestine of foxes, cats and dogs and spread their eggs through excrement. For example if we eat contaminated berries this parasite can get into our body and travel to the liver where tumours grow, all the while having the capability to destroy the liver over a period of years which can eventually lead to death. Unfortunately, symptoms mostly appear when an operation is too late.
Parasites are dangerous
They are like uninvited guests that eat our food and leave their garbage, like toxins and free radicals in our body. This puts a lot of pressure on the immune system and metabolism and weakens it continuously similar to you poisoning a person’s drinking water. Studies show more and more that parasites are likely to cause cancer and other serious diseases. In cancer patients dark field microscope examinations of their blood show a massive load of parasites, fungus and bacteria. Some of those parasites are life threatening and have the ability to cripple or even kill a number of people. Other parasites may “only” remove or destroy essential nutrients which are necessary in order for the normal functioning of the body.
Again parasites need an environment to life in – taking that unhealthy environment away takes away their foundation to survive.
See chapter How does our body function and Matrix Cleansing & Detoxification Program and make sure personal hygiene (washing hands especially before meals, after petting animals etc) and your food (e.g. washing fruit and vegetables with hot water or vinegar) is up to date.
Fingernails are always an area where parasites can breed and get into our system – short fingernails is easier to keep free of nasties, in the case of long fingernails make sure you clean/disinfect them regularly on a daily basis.
Parasite treatment is recommended once a year – see your Naturopathic Doctor or Naturopath for more inforamtion.
