Stress
Long-term studies show that chronic stress is the base/foundation for all diseases!
Processed carbohydrates (high calorie/low quality diet) means Hyperglycaemia which stimulates the Cortisol production and this means stress for our body! And than again long term stress is the foundation and can lead to diseases. So sometimes we are in a vicious circle of stress and disease and yes we can treat stress with nutrition. By taking away the large amounts of processed carbohydrates (Stoneage Nutrition) treats the cause of it. If we here only treat the stress symptoms we would not get far as the nutrition will still go on to produce stress.
Long term stress also leads to toxin overload in the brain which leads to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Depression and other conditions.
The relationship between stress and Infections
Stress has been labelled as the number one health problem in the US. Stress compounds not only on your mental health, but also affects the body physically in many ways.Stress can be caused by a number of problems, and the symptoms can be those of feeling anxious, fatigued, having aches, pains and a change in sleep patterns.
It has been proven that an immune system protein that encourages inflammation and has been linked with severe infections, osteoporosis, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease and some cancers. This protein, interleukin-6, has been found in high levels of those people suffering from stress. This incresed level of interleukin-6 accelerates a number of diseases that are age related. Also, a person’s immune response can weaken leaving them more vulnerable to infections. With changes to our immune system, our bodies are exposed to attack by bacteria, viruses and fungi, as well as increasing upper respiratory tract infections.
Stress and its affect on Weight Gain
Researchers have discovered that people who suffer from stress tend to eat more frequently than others and eat unhealthy food which is seen as comfort food. This comfort maybe in the form of fatty, greasy foods such as chocolate, hamburgers, ice cream or pizza, as well as alcohol. It has been proven that stressed people weigh more than their non-stressed counterparts. Studies suggest that men tend to eat as a result of stress particularly if they were unemployed, divorced or single. The study which included 5000 individuals showed that it was young men in particular rather than their elder peers that were more susceptible to stress due to work demands.Women who felt neglected of emotional support had the most inclination to eat to cope with the demands of stress.
Fight or Flight Reaction
The fight or flight response is a well known behavioural pattern related to the body when faced with stress and is designed to assist you in dealing with danger. Chemical messages are sent by the pituitary gland which is the controller of the body’s entire hormonal system to the adrenal gland which in turn secretes stress related hormones including adrenalin. During this time the heart rate increases, increased sweating will lower body temperature, breathing will become more rapid and glucose and oxygen are sent in enlarged amounts to the muscles.
The liver deposits stored glucose into the blood stream thereby allowing an increase in blood sugar and the adrenal gland continues to produce and pump excess stress hormones to enable the fight or flight reaction to continue.
These reactions can happen within seconds and due so to prepare the body to deal with a situation immediately, allowing a quick reaction to occur.
Such a response may occur when faced with a threatening situation such as avoiding a car accident or as a pedestrian jumping out of the path of an oncoming vehicle.
These stress hormones are utilised and at the finale of the situation, the body adapts once again to normal equilibrium and stress levels.
It is however, considered dangerous when the situation is not or cannot be handled and continues over a period of time. When this occurs, the body prolongs its heightened state of being and cannot return to its normal state which may lead to adrenal exhaustion, weight gain, high blood pressure, fatigue and blood sugar problems.
With Stress, Anxiety and Depression there is no need to be treated and numbed out with Pharmaceutical Drugs (Antidepressants) as there are natural ways (Omega 3 Fatty Acid, Cod Liver Oil, Krill Oil, etc.) to deal with these problems.
Besides these Natural Medicines you should always add the Universal Medicine Treatments, Chakra Puncture and Breathing Technique into your schedule when dealing with these problems.
